Cleaning the Canvas

Skeletons in the Closet

The more commonly thought of skeletons are for an entirely different project… I am referring to the unnecessary amount of ‘stuff’ I have accumulated over the past year. It has been awhile since I did a decent, ‘deep-clean’ of the storage compartments on the RV.

This was a rewarding venture in several ways. I was able to properly identify a bunch of things that I no longer need. This gives me an opportunity to donate what may still be of value.  I have a terrible habit of hoarding things for far to long and the exercise of minimizing is almost as rewarding as a hard work out.

Cleared Canvas

I’ve attached a few photos to show the result of my cleaning session today.  Now I have a cleared out aft storage section which is where I am intending to install the equipment necessary for My Solar Solution.  

I apologize for those of you looking for the before photos. I completely forgot to snap a few before I got started. 

More than enough room back here to build a scalable system.
The back wall you can see here will end up being sort of the 'firewall' for the system. I would like to be able to have the necessary controls available on the interior side. Not sure if my plan with that will work or not as the wall is just cheap particle board.
The water heater compartment is to the left.
It's the real world version of tetris for sure when trying to organize in small areas!
Enough space to access short term storage.
I was only about an inch off from being able to fit both of those containers next to each other.
It's not perfect but the goal was accomplished.

Mission Accomplished

A simple but necessary step to get the ball rolling on this project. Now I can take some measurements and start laying out a nice blueprint for what I am envisioning.  Next step is to find and learn a proper drafting software that will allow me to design the roller system I would like the batteries on and also the panel array mount.
